Popick says he asked for $2,500 in payment for the second performance, in Pensacola. The campaign made a counter-offer: How about a table where the group could presell albums? Popick took the deal.

When they arrived at the venue, though, there was no table, Popick says. The result was "complete chaos," he said. "They clearly had made no provisions for that."

To me it sounds like this guy had gold in his eyes and was thinking there would be some great set up to sell his shit and there wasn't but you can also read it as you as in he, can put up a table and sell CDs. There was another screw up where it seems they could perform at the veterans rally but last minute that was called off but its vague if the kids were really scheduled and honestly if you have to get on a plane to go somewhere for someone its a smart move to work out who pays first.

I'd need to hear some more specific's about what "promises" were made and who made them.
Scandal not found here but if I were Trump I'd send him the $2500 with a confidentiality agreement.

This seems to be Trump's m.o. based on all the reporting. It's quite a devious strategy; negotiate pay, get the product, and then renegotiate knowing they can't take back the product. Mind you this only works for people like Trump for who credit ratings have 0 meaning.

Gold in his eyes? Selling merch or getting $2500 for a multi-cast performance over a day isn't greed. Trump reached out to them, they gave their fee, Trimp renegotiated, and both parties agreed. Group gets there and instantly sees Trump didn't hold up his end. They hold up their end and perform. Then they get nothing.

Maybe I'm reading something wrong, but how can you lay any blame on the group? The weird assertion "he had gold in is eyes" is pretty ridiculous, they made a business arrangement.

He asked for $2500 but agreed to a table set up to sell CD's. Nothing is written down or emailed it was all phone business, I just have a feeling and I could be wrong that stuff wasn't worded so concrete and/or he was talking to someone who can't make those decisions.

Please don't think I'm saying its the right thing for Trump not to pay them but if he wasn't running for President I may have a different opinion. I feel bad for them traveling to AZ on short notice only to find out they won't have time for them but come on get that shit in writing before you hop on a plane otherwise it could be some dummy saying "we'll try to fit you in" and you hear it as "come on down we'll take care of you!"

But Trump has a long history of doing stuff like this. Unfortunately many people are unaware of just how shady and morally bankrupt this shitbag is.

Or at least they were before his campaign for President started ramping up. Now everyone is aware of how much of a horrible monster he is, just seems a lot of conservatives are just as monstrous.

I get it and I kind of agree, seems like business agreements with Trump need extra scrutiny and even then you may get screwed but I'm just talking about this family.

It's a lousy $2500 for a performance that paid off for the campaign rather handsomely. But the performers get the run around from people who are spending millions.

How many ways can we define chickenshit? How many ways can Trumpsters find to defend it?

Dude it's funny, it's not that big a deal. Trump has a long history of scamming people he said he would pay so it has extra legs. It's not that complicated.

As bad as Trump's candidacy is, what's even worse in a tragi-comedy kind of way (and I say this with buckets-full of sympathetic crocodile tears) is those folks who are regretfully compelled into supporting him out of party loyalty having to choke on every word they utter in his defense.

It was bad enough having to defend Bush 43's excellent profit making adventures in the Middle East for his and Cheney's friends over at Halliburton along with the on-going consequences of those wars. It was doubly bad enough that the economy crashed under his watch. It was horribly bad for the Repubs when Obama won, passed the ACA, and then won again despite the magnificent fear/hate laden obstructionist campaign they waged against him that eventually backfired on them in spectacular fashion.

And now Trump is their long shot symbolic leader-in-waiting, the guy who has been branded as "not really a Republican" by his own party. A guy that won their party's nomination without the blessings of Citizen's United and the establishment billionaires who wasted untold millions of $$$ attempting to derail his chances.

This guy who stiffs kids just from being himself looking to be the Stiff Artist in Chief.

Eh, stranger things have happened. He might even win....somehow. But I don't think Romney is being optimistic about it, nor McCain. And McConnell must be having many sleepless nights from having nightmares over his Senate caboose being dragged headlong into the abyss via Trump's runaway locomotive.

And those poor poor Fundamentalist Christians who have to hold their bibles in one hand and pinch their noses with the other as they vote for Trump because of those evil wicked progressive/liberal abortionists and married gays that own the Dem Party.

Now those folks (Fundies) I really feel sorry for....sort'a. ;)

2. Get a contract in paper and not a verbal agreement that you can't prove is real.

3. Get paid up front.

3. Get all participants sign a contract that exceeds all other offers but has Trump being paid upfront.
4. Declare bankruptcy of project and pay cents on the dollar to all participants.
5. Declare himself a winner and others losers.
