like all of my predictions about Trump, this will probably be proven wrong, but imho, I don't think there's any question you can ask in a national poll that wouldn't get at least 20% in favor (between true believers and people just trying to prank the poll)

That doesn't make any sense. South Korean president Park got down to 4% approval ratings. Are you suggesting that a minimum of 20% of americans will be in favor of any given candidate, regardless of their merits?

What would prevent 96% of Americans from reaching the same conclusion about Trump which 96% of south koreans did about their president?

I'm suggesting that at least 20% of Americans will be in favor of a candidate when polled, regardless of their merits.

I think it's an even mix between true believers/partisans and joke respondents who just want to taint the poll for laughs.

the only thing that seems to affect Trump is cable news.

if you've got Morning Joe reporting on anti-Trump protests in states that Trump won, I think that's something he'd care about.

I'm a little late here but according to a new Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday. 1/27

The survey found that 36% of American voters approve of Trump's handling of his job

Barack Obama received a 59%-25% approval rating - Quinnipiac poll taken after his inauguration in 2009.

Trying to find a poll for after this weekend of mayhem.

They should be running these polls by the hour. This most recent immigration fiasco especially will drop ALL his delusional minority support.

It's hard to know - he is such an eccentric person, and an unconventional President - but all signs suggest that he cares deeply about being popular, hence the fact that he continues to be obsessed with the size of his inauguration crowd and the idea that he actually won the popular vote despite the empirical reality that he lost it badly. I expect he cares a lot about these polls, but chooses only to believe those (like Rasmussen) that tend to lean in his favor.

He's tweeted about TV ratings (his and other people's) literally hundreds of times. Of course he will be obsessed with his approval figures and will only want to see the ones that are showing good news.
