Trump forced the release of over 5,000 Taliban fighters including senior commanders and war criminals, publicly invited the Taliban to Camp David on 9/11, reduced the U.S. military down to 2,500 or less, and had promised the Taliban the US would be gone by early 2021 in a unilateral surrender by Trump as the Taliban took over the majority of Afghanistan during his tenure. Trump had further ordered the US military to execute a final withdrawal with absolutely no plan just before he left office in January 2021 (which was rescinded at the last minute), leaving the unstable situation behind for Biden.

"The" family is not a thing. My uncle was killed in Vietnam, can I as the one of two living kin request that I be allowed to lay a wreath at the Tomb?

Photography is broadly allowed at most areas of Arlington National Cemetery (other than the section of relatively recent deceased). Campaigning, campaign photographs or campaign videos, are allowed absolutely nowhere at Arlington.

Edit, for clarity, reiterating exact statement from the Army:
"Federal law prohibits political campaign or election-related activities within Army National Military Cemeteries, to include photographers, content creators or any other persons attending for purposes, or in direct support of a partisan political candidate's campaign. Arlington National Cemetery reinforced and widely shared this law and its prohibitions with all participants. We can confirm there was an incident, and a report was filed," the statement read.

I guess the only good thing about this is that Trump's point about Afghanistan withdrawal has been completely drowned out by his ham fisted actions.

Even though the employee is not pressing charges.

And this was witnessed by others couldn’t the DOJ press charges. Reading up on assaulting a federal employee performing their duties is a felony…

But Trump has succeeded in getting his name back atop the headlines between this stunt and RFK stunt, pushing aside Harris/Walz and all other news.

Still doesn't keep her out of danger from Trump's army of deplorables. Especially if she confirms what happened when she would be interviewed. This is the world we have to put up with these days.

What a load of garbage. The Speaker of the House can choose to ignore the law? It is irrelevant what the family asked for. It is still a violation of law. Did that family ask permission from all the other families of those who are buried there?

That that family believes Trump care about them at all after he specifically called soldiers losers and suckers is mind boggling. He called their dead child a sucker and a loser!

I am sure Trump has called and visited every soldier’s family who died while he was President 🙄🙄 and afterward too. I am sure that this wasn’t a publicity stunt.

Can you imagine the outrage by greenman and pcgeek if Biden had a thumbs up at Arlington and did a political video?

The level of cultism, willful ignorance and inability to examine basic facts is mind blowing
