Looking good.

Trump is really the king of all deals! o_Oo_Oo_O

Sorry, but this made me laugh. King of deals my ass. Easy to look like a deal maker when you started the shit in the first place.....sorta like a firefighter setting fires to then be the hero as he saves those endangered from the fire he set in the first place.

Also, this is a halt to new tariffs being engaged, not a halt to the tariffs already in place.

"America you are getting more jobs- TARIFFS! Oh, America, nevermind, but maybe later."
Hell of a way to support American business.

After meeting at the G-20 summit in Argentina, Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping have agreed a temporary stop to their bilateral trade disagreement, striking a deal to hold off on any additional tariffs on each other's goods after January 1.

"It's an incredible deal. It goes down, certainly, if it happens, it goes down as one of the largest deals ever made," Trump said while en route to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.

Apparently not imposing more tariffs counts as "one of the largest deals ever made" to Trump. God he is dumb.

As per an earlier statement from the White House , the U.S. leader also said China would now look to buy from the U.S. a "tremendous amount of agricultural and other products," in a bid to address the one way flow of trade.

This is like the 3rd time China has promised this (the EU did too) and jack shit happened. The Chinese are diversifying their ag purchases away from the US long term, the market is gone. Russia, South America, and Mongolia are the real winners here.

At this point I can only conclude that the Chinese are playing for time with Trump set to be distracted by an oppositional house and re-election.

Yeah that seems like a likely reason for this but how can a business which is impacted by trade plan a course of action? All this does is introduce a major incalculable variable into whatever plans are made. More evidence that one doesn't need to be bright or even average to make a lot of money. They just have to be ruthless sharks. We could all be wealthy if we sell ourselves like Trump.

Reasons why foreign investment in the US has cratered and companies of all kinds are being very conservative on capital expenditures. Anybody remember that big tax cut that was supposed to unleash a wave of corporate investments? Yeah, me neither.

Trump was born into wealth and somehow managed, despite some excellent efforts, not to lose it all. All the "self made man" bullshit is sales to an America stupid enough to be taken.

"It's because we elected Democrats in 2018" in 3... 2... 1...

Maybe after 2020, if Trump loses, they can use that. Trump has handcuffed himself to the economy/stock market and tossed the key. That's why he's losing his mind at the Fed constantly.

Trying that now would be like the attempt to run against Pelosi in hopes of keeping the House only to be swamped by a 40 seat loss and a popular vote margin not seen in decades.

If you ever picked up on a post of mine you know that I am not a fan of Colluding Treasoning Trump, but why is free, as in totally free, trade a bad thing? Thats what he wants right?
Is it because of the possibility that you become depended on a foreign powers ie. food supply(farmers, the center of it all), a foreign nation that you later may have beef with on some unrelated business? Leverage?
Like... Russia with gas and metals?
At the face of it, I like the idea of 100% free trade, I can also see how it has implications.

No, he wants other nations to drop trade barriers for US goods while engaging in protectionism. In other words: something for nothing.
0% tax both ways ... I can only see that binding us closer together... I want this in extension of the belief that nations that trade dont wage war. We need more trade.

So what's the gist of this?

Trump doesn't impose the Jan 1 sanctions as announced, and China "promises" to restore purchasing some of AG products they stopped buying and are consequently rotting in the grain silos as we speak?

This sounds like a retreat and overall worse position than had we done nothing.

He temporarily staved off the problem that he made in the first place! Our hero!
Hopefully the next President can repair the damage trump has caused, or at least be able to migrate the impacts.

Funny Sad part is, I'm pretty sure I already heard it on Fox a week or two after the midterm elections.

It's like saying "Good job" to the dumb ass kid who lit a bag of dog shit on the neighbor's steps, rang the doorbell and then fell on the bag when running away.

But hey, OP is desperate for anything positive to say about that idiot orange bastard... lol.
