I wonder how Elon Musk will respond to Donald Trumps plans to end the tax cut for EV.
And then to remember that the fossile fuel industry gets massive subsidy every year from the US government.

Small excerpt from text :

"
Points
  • President Donald Trump’s so-called big beautiful bill ends federal EV tax credits after Sept. 30.
  • Consumers may rush to buy or lease an electric vehicle before that deadline to get a tax break.
  • Tesla said now is the time to “YOLO” purchase an EV, referencing the fast-approaching deadline.
"

"
President Donald Trump’s signature on his so-called big beautiful bill was a death blow for tax credits that lowered the cost of electric vehicles.
Those tax credits — worth up to $7,500 and $4,000 for purchases of new and used EVs, respectively — won’t be available after Sept. 30. Another tax break that’s ending lets dealers pass along savings on EV leases.

The credits were supposed to last for another seven years, through 2032.
Analysts think the abrupt end to these federal subsidies will trigger a rush by consumers to buy or lease an EV in coming months.
“This is going to be the summer of the EV,” Ingrid Malmgren, senior policy director at Plug In America, a nonprofit advocating for a quicker transition to electric cars, previously told CNBC.

I kind of hope Elon Musk succeeds :

Small excerpt from text :
"
Billionaire Elon Musk said Saturday he is forming a third political party, after a dramatic falling out with Donald Trump, indicating he will make good on threats he made if the president’s domestic policy bill became law.
“When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy,” Trump’s former “first buddy” said on his social media platform, X. “Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.”
Musk, the largest individual donor to Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign and, until recently, a close adviser to the president who spearheaded his administration’s push to cut government waste, had criticized Trump’s “big beautiful bill” because of estimates that it would add trillions of dollars to the federal deficit.

I know Ford is "encouraging" people to buy an electric NOW rather than wait until the subsidies are cut.

Fuck the future generations, up with fossil fuel profits! The subsidies they currently receive are barely enough to keep their CEOs in yachts!

Ending the subsidy is what touched off Musk's first Trump melt down.

No offense, but there seems to be some general confusion on where guys like Elon Musk or Sens. Ron Johnson and Rand Paul stand.

They have NO problem with tax cuts for billionaires and corporations. In the early days, Musk even crowed about ending BEV subsidies and Trump's tariffs, saying Tesla was in a strong enough position vis a vis the competition.

No, what fuckers like Musk and Johnson really want are deep cuts to social welfare to pay for all the trickle-up. Trump's legislation is all kinds of awful and does put the U.S. on a perilous fiscal path (considering that SS and Medicare are as yet to be reckoned with). But what Musk, Johnson, Paul and the House Freedumb caucus really want are more draconian cuts to the federal government.

For the record, Musk pledged to locate trillions in government waste, but found the equivalent of change that had fallen between the couch cushions. I want no part of Elon Musk succeeding in politics.

With Elon Musk starting a new party, Elon Musk himself was not born in the USA. So he cannot be president. Who would be the likely president candidate for the "America Party" ?

According to SCOTUS after the Colorado Insurrection ruling, the rules written in the Constitution cannot be used to prevent someone from running for president (ie, a state can't keep someone off the ballot). But Congress can decide later whether to allow that person to become president, after all the votes are counted.

Please. Elon Musk is all about Elon Musk. He isn't trying to save the world or save nature. He gives exactly zero shits about that stuff.
He cares but being CEO, he looks in the grand scheme of things. having a larger view on life.
What helps is that money makes money. And he is surrounded by a lot of rich people.
And he understand that people are all addicted to their smartphones and social media.
So easy to manipulate, truth or semi truth or lies.

Donald Trump does the same with his truth social.
Simple one liners to get the crowd excited.

His larger view on life is being a rich fuck who can do whatever he wants. We don't have to assign deeper, nonexistent meaning to billionaires' actions. As for "likes being CEO" - LOL. He's like CEO of a dozen companies - he likes the titles. He's not doing the work.

These people like attention and they like money like it's some video game leaderboard.

He mentioned Hillary Clinton, Elon Musk and Al Gore all in the same breath; so I assumed there's an invisible sarcasm tag hanging off the end.

Although the tenor of the posts ITT do suggest otherwise... 🤦‍♂️ Gizmo j level posting??

The real news here is that @BoomerD is running for Prez!

No. I think Musk is an unstable, selfish jackass who thinks it's cute to be a white supremacist. It's pretty disgusting. And it's pretty disgusting that people still try to celebrate and defend him. It really makes me question their judgement.

Fuck Musk. In this context it's not about the individual, it's the fact that a 200-400 billion billionaire can outright buy the US government and blow everything up.

Elon Musk is more powerful than the US democratic institution. And it's on you. He is shitting on you.
