That could be true? It could also be true that such programs seek to level out or balance an allready discriminating envorinment?
So the solution to discrimination is more discrimination? You need to work on your spelling.

So do you believe that my kids should get into Harvard over yours because we are minorities and you aren't? Despite my kids performing lower on tests, lower GPA than yours? Be honest.
Gawd you're lame. 22.2% of Harvard admissions are Asian but they're only 5.6% of the population. That's a helluva way to discriminate.

Yeah, I'm sure the Asians suing Harvard are doing it just b/c they can. Sure, let's see who wins the lawsuit? What if I told you that from a merit standpoint, Harvard should actually be 50% Asian?Gawd you're lame. 22.2% of Harvard admissions are Asian but they're only 5.6% of the population. You are missing the point.
Asians are about 43% as undergrads at CalTech in 2017 which does not have a race based policy as Harvard. In other words, if Harvard has a policy of admission as Caltech, more Asians would be in because of their achievements and not be punish because of their race/color.

Or maybe that's because greater LA has the largest concentration of Asians in America.

Somebody from the blue party please explain to me why the most qualified person shouldn't be admitted to these colleges? Aren't we doing our society and country a disservice by not allowing our best and brightest to get the best educations? Wouldn't this inhibit our technological innovation? E.g. By admitting someone who can't do math as well into a program that relies heavily on math? You seriously don't see a problem with this, at the expense of virtue signaling that you have the most [insert x race here], like it's some sort of sick trophy to have the most [x race students] on your campus? Who gives a shit. The most qualified should get the position period. No race card, no how-someone-performed-in-their-tough-environment-that's-impossible-to-quantify-bs, just give me the cold hard numbers of GPA and Test scores. Then maybe extracurricular activities as a subjective tiebreaker if the first two are the same. Base it on numbers, not emotions, not skin color, not having a stupid faux trophy of the most certain type of people on your campus.
I disagree. Someone will always beat out someone else based on either intellectual and/or social skills. There is no equal opportunity in life which is why if you were given a shit hand, you will have to work that much harder. The mere fact that we are handicapping people for being too smart, innovative, or ambitious is the real crime. The real losers are society because we will innovate slower at the expense of bragging rights by certain people who feel the need to puff out their chest and say they helped (without realizing they're hurting others) x amount of x race at x college. It's all self-congratulatory BS that sets us back as a whole. Do you think certain types of cancer could've been solved if the x amount of Asians who wanted to be doctors at Harvard medical but didn't get in because of skin color? And as a result never met with that exact brilliant mind who could only unlock the key in another's brilliant mind? What about car battery power storage? The list goes on and on. We are shooting ourselves in the foot by discriminating for the feels.higher education isnt a sport. The best campus has a mix of identities.

Apra pos nothing (I don't know what the context of this is), Asians are some of the smartest and coolest people by and large on the planet, maybe the mostest. I'm not saying it's genetic, it probably isn't, it's cultural.Or maybe that's because greater LA has the largest concentration of Asians in America.
It's crap, because two steps for everything including tutors vs college scholarships is nowhere near proportionate. Nobody will ever be equal, no matter how hard we try in society. There is zero standard or qualitative/quantitative method for such analysis. That would require copies of all relatives' income taxes, school aptitude scores of grades 1-12, and a concrete evaluation of the schools vs other schools, public and private. It doesn't exist, and nobody is stupid enough to try and categorize/pit a human being vs another in such a way. Like I said in teh above post, A.Action is only for the feels and it's actually hurting our society as a whole since innovation is stifled.Saw this video earlier today - https://www.facebook.com/viralmotio.../UzpfSTE4MTc4NTI1NTI6MTAyMDk3MDU1MTU3OTQxNTA/

It's about time. Meritocracy is winning again thanks to the Donald. No more admissions based on skin color, only GPA/test scores for people who actually earned it. Harvard is about to learn the hard way once the lawsuit is over that they can't discriminate against Asians. Sorry Obama, but another one comes off the books for your "legacy".
But its not leveling the playing field. Some kid who group up in abject poverty with the worst schools, a broken home life and crime all over the place gets exceptional grades for his environment? Somehow we arent supposed to take into account the socio-economics because why? Some white people are offended the people they oppressed will be recognized for hard work?
first you would need to standardize the environment. Thats not possible.
The third fact is that test prep varies by race in the opposite way that people imagine. In the quote above, Chris Hayes suggests that whites use test prep much more than blacks. In fact, blacks use test prep more than whites, as is well documented among education researchers (e.g. here, here, here), e.g. from the first link:
…blacks and Hispanics are more likely than whites from comparable backgrounds to utilize test preparation. The black-white gap is especially pronounced in the use of high school courses, private courses and private tutors.
But a close inspection of the social science data suggests that the world doesn’t really look like that. For example, above is the 2013 federal National Assessment of Educational Progress scores for 12th graders in Reading. Blacks who are the children of college graduates average 274, which is the same as whites who are the children of high school dropouts.

The lack of attention or caring for America's brightest students is a result in large part to extreme egalitarianism, which presents itself in the form of six forces operating within American society and hence its schools: the pitting of equity against excellence rather than promoting both equity and excellence; anti-intellectualism; the dumbing-down of the curriculum; equating aptitude and achievement testing with elitism and avoiding their use; the attraction to fads; and the insistence of educators to teach all students from the same curriculum at the same level. These forces have led to a situation in which the precocious students are not being treated equitably; they simply are not provided with an appropriate education-an education that brings out their potential. This hurts bright students from minority or lower socioeconomic backgrounds the most, because parents often cannot provide alternative educational experiences to compensate for their neglect by the system.
Sure let's just leave those special consideration to kids of rich parents because daddy bought the school a new wing.https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/03/us/politics/trump-affirmative-action-race-schools.html

You have to understand, though, that to these people "rich" is merit. Money = success = merit. Obviously if these people weren't the smartest most hard working people they wouldn't be rich, so why shouldn't they be able to use their money and influence? They do not see this as a blatantly hypocritical position.Sure let's just leave those special consideration to kids of rich parents because daddy bought the school a new wing.
Trump want the schools like his administration. Take a look at the pictures of Obama's last intern class vs Trump's first intern class. Take a look at Trump's hires. Don't know exact number but its over 90% white males. Since his administration has broken all records for resignations and firings due to incompetence and corruption we all know how well that worked out.
That's why Trump and the OP are so happy. There will less of us darkies infesting their precious schools. You have to understand, though, that to these people "rich" is merit. Money = success = merit. Are you poor, too? Those are the worst type of browns. Although those uppity wealthy browns are pretty bad, too. That's why Trump and the OP are so happy. There will less of us darkies infesting their precious schools.
I'm an upper middle class brown. I guess that still means I'm likely to rob you if we meet on the streets. According to many people here. Are you poor, too? Those are the worst type of browns. Although those uppity wealthy browns are pretty bad, too.
My wife is a lower upper class brown, but she's an immigrant so I'm not sure where she falls on the scare-o-meter.I'm an upper middle class brown. I guess that still means I'm likely to rob you if we meet on the streets. According to many people here.
