My nephew who is in the reserves just called to Dubai. I suspect that there will be no politicians kids with him overseas. Something is in the works. Wonderful, now my family gets to be part of the meatgrinder.

Ironically, my brother and his family voted for Trump. They have one other son who is attending UWMadison for engineering and who opted into the Air Force Reserves to help pay for it. He will probably end up overseas as well.

I always find it amusing how Israel boosters talk about how Israel is this great asset to the USA in the Middle East...and yet they never help in any of the wars, never send any troops, it's always US troops fighting and dying, not IDF.

Or, for that matter, Saudi troops.

When we go to war in Syria, North Korea and Yemen, the mainstream media will portray America as heroic and Trump as wise, the flags will come out and a shitload of people will die. American soldiers are about to die at a rate at least comparable to Bush and perhaps worse AND FOR FUCKING WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Hint... corporate and political capital are not valid reasons...

Seriously? You think it's at all feasible to have Israeli troops helping us fight in Arab countries? I guaranty you we would not accept such help even if offered because it would be counter-productive.

well, how about we just let them do their own fighting in their own interest with the weapons and money that we already funnel directly to their "cause"?

Yes, it isn't feasible. And yet they are "indispensable" to US interests. Yet, they are effectively useless in hard power and they cause the Muslims to hate us. And even then, we gift them directly $5 billion a year and assorted other costs make it probably $15 billion a year. 9-11 probably would never have happened, and from there the second Iraq war, if Israel weren't around.

The real reason we support them is religious. I admit I've felt the tug myself, given how much of the Jewish story I read in the Bible growing up.

No, the real reason we support them is because they are the only real democracy in the region. So far as I'm concerned, we should support other democracies on principle, especially those who are surrounded by hostile non-democracies who want to destroy them.

Also, Israel shares loads of intel with us that helps us fight.

The media has rolled over for Trump on this. Totally abdicating their responsibility for objective journalism. For example, treating as fact the White House's assertion that Trump changed his mind on Syria because of a sudden burst of never before seen compassion about dying children. Then today we see an interview from Eric Trump who says it was Ivanka who was upset by the photos, and convinced her dad to strike Syria.

The media always seems to roll over whenever there is military action. They also seem to jump at the chance to praise Trump whenever he seems to do something not totally insane or idiotic.

LOL no. If you take into account the Palestinian Territories, it most certainly is not a democracy. Iran is more democratic.

Frankly, "democracy" is often just a shorthand for white European.

Let me guess, and they voted for Trump, as so many others, because "America first" and "cuz we gonna pull out from all these shitholes and care about our own problems here in America, for a change", right?

And now there's the best chance in years for not only ONE *big* war, but at least two (NK, Syria), and this doesn't take into account Russia or China. AS PREDICTED BY ALMOST ANYONE who opposed Trump.

Trump is in office for...what....80 days? And he already ordered airstrikes in Syria, dropped "DA BIGGEST BOMB EVA" in Afghanistan, and seems to very like the attention he's getting with it. The strike fleet in NK not even taken into account.

Shit is brewing, exactly as predicted.

This is such a terrible decision and am very disgusted at the fact that over half the US supports these strikes. Trump has been officially influenced by the globalist and no doubt Jared kushner is a Zionist plant. Shall the US continue to do the bidding of Israel? It seems so..

Never believe anyone who says they do not believe in foreign intervention.

Tulsi Gabbard now under attack from her own party for the audacity to ask for a proper investigation into this chemical attack.

Why investigate what they know is likely a false flag incident? Why investigate anything? Really, you should just accept the word of the God-Emperor-in-Chief Mr. Sir King Donald Trump The Great and the word of the media that this is all for invading and deposing assad. Rebels lose aleppo and it's assad who is desperate and in need of help. Rebels can't hold Hama and get pushed back, and of course it's evil assad with the chemical attacks. Makes perfect sense.

Yeah, kinda sad seeing Democrats work the patriotism angle. It was pathetic watching John Kerry do it.

The honorable representative from Hawaii, Tulsi Gabbard has just earned my admiration. I hope she runs for President.

Loves when she states the obvious.... if you remove Assad, you are handing the country over to Islamic terrorists. The most asked question she got from Syrians when she visited there was "why is America arming terrorists in our country?"

ROFL!!! Newsmax and fact checking? For what....accuracy? Yeah, cannot see anything wrong with that combination other than it couldn't be a more idiotic combination.......

The age ol' strategy of attacking the source. Page one of the liberal handbook I'm sure. Well this one will fall flat on your face. Newsmax is only the messenger. The liberal rag the WaPost gave out 4 Pinocchios:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2017/04/10/susan-rices-claim-that-obama-got-syria-to-verifiably-give-up-its-chemical-weapons-stockpile/?hpid=hp_hp-top-table-main_factcheck-ricesyria-0303am:homepage/story&utm_term=.e3110e58aefe

The reality is that there were continued chemical-weapons attacks by Syria — and that U.S. and international officials had good evidence that Syria had not been completely forthcoming in its declaration and possibly retained sarin and VX nerve agent. Yet Rice said: “We were able to get the Syrian government to voluntarily and verifiably give up its chemical weapons stockpile.” She did not explain that Syria’s declaration was believed to be incomplete and thus was not fully verified — and that the Syrian government still attacked citizens with chemical weapons not covered by the 2013 agreement. That tipped her wordsmithing toward a Four.

Today, Syrian "moderate" rebels (armed by America) kill 126 people including 68 children. I am sure America will do something to make this right.....

What is great about this is that the assholes we are supporting baited children in to ensure that they could kill them in the attack.
