I can get either the Antec Neopower 480w or Truepower 2.0 550w for the same price for use in my next rig. However, I am in a dilemma.

Neopower Pro's and Con's
+Modular Cables
+Pre-Sleeved Cables for recently manufactured ones
+Black housing (matches theme of case)

-No SLI support
-Not as much power as TP 2.0 550

TP 2.0 550w Pro's and Con's
+More power than Neopower
+Official SLI Support
+Same price as Neopower! (~$110)

-No modular cables
-No factory sleeving

I'm kind of leaning towards the TP 2.0, but I'm not sure. That's where I need you to help me decide. Keep in mind that this is for the rig below in my sig. (Disregard PSU)

tp2 is a great psu, i have one meself. rock solid. and with the rig you're putting together, you won't have to worry about hiding all kinds of dongles. you can always sleeve it yourself. i used the spiral crap froma hardware store, just wind it on, makes it look better and takes no time for about $5. its not a show stopper but looks neat.

I have the TP II and it is a great PSU. I got mine sleeved from performance-pcs and they did a great job.

Another vote for the Truepower. 480W might not be enough if you want to run SLI in the future.

I do not recommend the TP 2.0 550w because of its poor fan choice and mounting. Also with the Neopower you would most likely want to replace the stock fan as there is a 1/8" gap between the fan and the cover and this hurts ventilation.

i've seen that. i have no idea how he managed to get his fan spinning at 1800rpm lol. my system runs 24/7 and it typically spins ~800 and under load 12+ hours of stressing might hit 1100 rpm.

there are plenty of reviews on this unit, most very favorable, yet people clutch this one review and say "i can't recommend this" frankly, i wouldn't "not recommend" anything i've never used.

heres my psu, fan is represented by "pwmic"

Well, I would like to order all of my parts through ZipZoomFly. I would be ordering from Newegg, but they charge sales tax to TN, and since I live in Memphis, that is a no go. Plus ZZF also has free shipping. Basically, ZZF is the only place where I can get all of the parts that I need under my budget. I feel my best alternative would be a Seasonic, but I can't find them anywhere except Newegg.

I would try and get a SPARKLE FSP550-60PLG. It is around the same price as the ones you are looking at, but much better.

lol, what have you got against antec? that psu, while good, is less efficient, less powerful and OOS at zzf where he wants to buy.

jeesh, its one thing if he was looking at a raidmax or something.

edit-- here you go waylay the tp2 line is excellent. theres no need to stress about it.

Yeah, considering the price of the TP 2.0, I think it would be a great buy.

Thanks to everyone for their input. Now if only the guy would bring me the money for the sale so I can go ahead and buy this thing...

Pick up the TP 2.0 550watt ESP 12v model. I have it and its silent . (compared to the case fans and CPU fan, cant hear it). I dont believe it has the same problems with fan noise as the regular TPII. It does have a weird 8pin server power cable, but otherwise its identicle to the TPII and shouldnt have any fan issues.

I love it. Newegg had a sale last month, had it listed at $100.
