TrueImage 8 Boot CD question

Hello all. I liked the idea of booting from a True Image 8 CD and creating an Image without an OS (XP) running. I also liked the fact that I can boot the CD on other systems without Installing TrueImage. I took my boot cd and when I use it on another system, it gives an error while creating the ramdisk. Is the boot cd only for the system it was created on ?

TIA

It suppose to work on any Normal system.

It is actually written in Linux and it should boot up as long as there is enough memory, and the computer BIOS are set correctly to boot first from CD-ROM.

Strange. I installed it on an older PIII-500 and it has 256mb memory. I created the boot cd there. It will not boot from my P4-2.4 OC system with 1gb memory. It boots, but as it is loading it complains about the ramdisk...it can not create it. I like Ghost9 but it is big and you can not create an image out of the OS!

I just tried my TI8 boot CD on my wifes PC, and it was able to boot up with no problems. I created this boot cd on my PC which is a newer P4 running XP her PC is an older HP AMD Athlon running 98.

BTW my wifes PC does not have TI8 installed (she does not even back up) :disgust:

Well...now it works! It did not work before, but I am making an image and sending it to a networked drive. However, PC World said it did a 1.2gig partition in 2 minutes! My 160GB (2x80gb SATA Raid0 drives)with 10 gb in use is taking 2 hours. Is that correct? I guess it does not matter how much is free if you are cloning every sector.

Thank you all for your help.
