True story of the Craigslist murderer

Warning, this article is very long but it's a fascinating and chilling read.

The Craigslist killers: the full story

More than 100 men replied to an advert on Craigslist offering work on a farm. Some of them were shot dead. The killers thought no one would miss their victims but, as Hanna Rosin reports, their story reveals a surprising truth about the emotional lives of men in a time of recession and family breakdown

This is some scary stuff, especially the parts about young Brogan ending up in the care of Richard Beasley (though Brogan ultimately shares some of the guilt).

Well, the guy got what he wanted. Room and board for the rest of his life.

Bet the kid was wishing he didn't turn down that plea offer.

Long good read... would not be surprised if this got turned into a movie - with deep character development with the victims and their families...

Didn't they all ready make a movie about this its called "Wrong Turn".

Was that the one with Paul Walker and that other guy who trick the trucker into trying to meet some girl and standing him up in the rain, only to have him then go on a rampage trying to kill them?

Maybe that was U Turn.

I was joking about the movie "Wrong Turn" but you're thinking of "Joyride". Wrongturn is about hillbillies stalking people.

Anyway, Beasley looks like a homicidal psycho.

What incredible luck that the guy's gun misfired the first time, otherwise Davis would have been hit from behind and definitely died. And good that Beasley in typical form was too damn fat to move, so he was unable to chase the guy down. Who knows how many others would have died.

Is surprising to me how inept so many criminals are, but maybe that's why they resort to criminality anyway.
