True spooky story (not so spooky anymore)

OS

Lifer
I live not too far from train tracks. Late at night, sometimes, I'll hear a moderately loud train horn blowing and it'll blow on and off for 20 minutes or so. But here's the kicker; those train tracks have been out of service for years. :Q

I'm really curious where that horn sound is coming from.

<< sorry if ive been waking you with my farts.....😱 >>

damnit frog that was you again? I thought you got that fixed :|

I can hear trains late at night too...but it's just the SEPTA trains (philadelphia public trans), and I live like 15 blocks away, it sucks...

But there is an area behind the houses across the street from me, where there are some train tracks. I used to play around that area when I was younger. My friend said that he could hear trains moving at night from his bathroom.

dude im sorry my but plug fell out...
errrr
"mom stop feeding me those damn tacos!"

<< Uh...do you live anywhere near water? Could be foghorns...sound from those things trabel forever. >>

Nope, something like 70 miles away from the nearest large body of water

<< if you're heard any stories about it being haunted, it's probably some people with airhorns or something. >>

But airhorns sound really different from train horns and what I hear are train horns.

Not to mention that it happens so often and consistently that I wonder if pranksters had that kind of dedication.

<< why don't you go camp out on the tracks one nite, and see if its a real train thats been passing by. >>

Yeah I was thinking the next time I hear them I could drive/walk out there and see if the sound got any louder. It's really close by, I live right across the street from a park and the tracks are right behind the park. It's only a couple hundred feet away.

Edit;

I know for a fact it's not a real train. All of the tracks were physically removed several years ago. :Q That's why it's kind of spooky, it's just an empty strip of dirt now.

When I first moved to this area like 15 years ago, there were still physical tracks there and trains did use them, but they were later removed and now big six lane streets cross where the railroads use to be.

mmm...are u sure the train stracks have been completely out of service for years? maybe they've just reduced the traffic or something to late hours so as to not disturb traffic?

if you go to look what it really is, make sure you go with friends or something. just in case something happens. you wouldn't want to go out there by yourself and something happen and then have no one to help you. just go out there with a few friends and make sure you guys take a cell phone and bright lights. take some photon micro lights. those things are very bright.

Yeah check my edit right above. The rails/tracks were physically removed several years ago.

I guess I should, but this only happens real late at night (happened last night around 3-4 AM) and since this is a quiet suburban neighborhood, everyone is in bed by then. Awfully convenient huh? 😕 Asked people in my family, and they don't know what I'm talking about.

Huh, this is really convenient, I go outside, freeze my ass off for 5 minutes and the sound is no where to be found.

hm...how long have you been hearing the noise? also i mean did u just one day start hearing the noise or something? or have u been hearing it since u've gotten there?
