Does oc'ing only shorten the lifespan of the card if you KEEP it oc'd?

(clarification) In other words, I oc'd the core 50 MHz, and the memory 50 MHz, for 2 days, and then set it back to default, just to see any gains. Is the likelyhood that anything was damaged small?

if i only overclocked for 2 days, did i reduce the life by any significant margin? (And we're talking a whimpy oc, no more than 10% on the core or memory, and no voltage change)
 
Hell no. Dont worry about it, overclock away. The way i look at it is, i upgrade enough that i dont really worrry about shortening the lifespan of my components. Maybe they will last 4 years instead of 12, but i will never keep any component long enough for it to matter. So as long as you go slowy, are careful, and monitor everything, overclock away! I do it just because i can. Its fun to push things, and it helps you learn a thing or two about your computer along the way.
 
Which is exactly why i did this, i wanted to learn how to overclock, and be mroe knowledgable about it. Well i'm gonna leave this at stock speed until I put it into my future AMD64 system, o when those AMD64 prices go down, that'll be great! 😀

I've heard some vendors can check their card's BIOSes to tell if something has been overclocked though I'm not sure if that's just a rumour or not.
