Thank you for your response.
I have only begun to try the software and burned a backup of my HDD but I have not been able to "Explore" the CDs to know that I have good usable CDs in the event I have to use them. I am using version 6.0.0.350; the latest. I have gotten the error message: Cannot assign a drive letter to a partition from the image archive. This comes when drive I has been chosen by the software to use as my drive. Tell me, in burning your backup CDs, on your last CD(in the burn) were you advised to mark that CD as Main Volume or some such words and further that the last CD was to be inserted FIRST when attempting to Explore the CDs??
Perhaps there is one small step that I have repeatedly missed when I try the Explore.
Oh yes, at the end of my burn of my HDD, I got the Congratulations message that the burn was successful!!

I don't burn my backup images. I keep them on the 2nd partition. If my entire hd takes a dump then I'll just reinstall win2000.

Enjoyed your web site. Will go back there when more time allows.

Your saving your images to another partition in lieu of burning is interesting. I am somewhat a "new" user of PCs and I have to say that I don't know how to do that. In fact, assuming my burn of almost 5GBs is good(since I was congratulated at the end of the burn), I haven't yet determined how to put the burn on a partition on my second hard drive. I suppose you know
your images are good because once you get them on a partition, you are able to see your files/folders----right?

Thanks again for your time in responding.

Has anyone had to use the recovery yet? I have been using True Image for about 6 months to do backups and fortunately have not had to do a recovery. I would sleep better if I knew that the recovery worked. How easy is it to use and did it recover everything?
