How many times must a big, showy apology be made? How many reparations?

How many, until the recipient finally accepts the apology - and if no apology or reparations will ever suffice, it makes the ones ever-demanding apologies to look bad.

More than zero times and zero reparations. If the Catholic Church does both and has their face spit in, we can talk again.

While its loads of fun to beat up on the Church, deservedly so I might add, they were just a contractor in this after all. This was a program conceived and put into action by the Canadian Government. They are wholly responsible for the horrors that resulted from this attempt at cultural genocide. For the head of the Canadian Government to ask the Pope to apologize again for the Church's role just seems ever so slightly hypocritical. To be honest I would expect Trudeau to apologize on behalf of all Canadian Catholics before I would expect the Pope to apologize again. The fact is that there have been apologies made by Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict, and Pope Francis for this exact event. It is a little disingenuous for Trudeau to make this request as if the church had always been silent in the subject which it clearly has not.

I too think that not demanding an incoherent apology for everything done by every single Muslim from every single Muslim before you request an apology for a very specific thing that is documented from the specific Christian church that was involved shows an absolutely unacceptable favoritism. I am so very smart and intellectually honest that I answer my own questions because who needs other opinions.
