Truck Problems

driving up to kirkwood near tahoe today my car started lurching like crazy accelerating up hill. 99% sure another one of my coil packs is done for(2000 expedition 5.4l). I made it up the mountain ok, but I'm wondering if my truck will make it back the 200 mile drive to my house. I really don't want to have to use an unknown mechanic, but I don't want to be stranded either. We had epic rains around here and I'm sure water got into another one of the coil packs. It happened once before and the mechanic said this was a common problem.

Hard to say.

Engine light on? Also have the plugs been changed? The plugs are MAJOR problems in the 5.4L motors. Remove the factory 2 piece plugs and put in the 1 piece champion plugs. But if a plug broke then you may need to remove the head to get it all out.

So the engine started to stall while climbing or you just lost acceleration?
I'd also check your transmission fluid.

Well i drove her home and she made it ok. Still drives like crap up hills. Hopefully my mechanic won't charge me too much for the install on the new ignition coil pack
