Truck Out planned this week!!

Anyone wishing to obtain a commercial driver's license here is subject to great scrutiny, including finger printing and background clearances. Why would U.S. citizens have to face more obstacles than foreign ones to drive within their own borders?

And yet the president wants to let non speaking, non english reading, prolly non knowing how to drive a truck, otr drivers to haul freight in our country.

WTF is wrong with him? Who is slipping him the millions under the table to make sure this goes into effect?
 
My god ... how can anyone in Washington even be considering this?

Having driven a truck for a few years I know how hard it is to make a living & this certainly isn't going to help any ... I can only see it driving more trucking companies out of business & lowering quality of service further then it already is.

In addition it will only lead to more serious truck accidents on our highways ... aside from lining greedy pockets I can't see any reason to do this & I can only hope that for once common sense will win out!

This is part of the North American Union, and the building of the Texas Trans Corridor, a stretch of superhighway from Texas to Canada. This is a scheme for big corporations like Wal-Mart to ship cheap Chinese goods through Mexico and bypassing the longshoreman in California.

I used to be a corporate accountant for a company that had a trucking branch. Fuel taxes alone were enough to make a company go under!

I don't know why the President wants to allow these trucks to travel all over our country without strict safety measures. DOT always has someone pulled over on the road...I wonder if these trucks will be targets or if DOT will be told to back-off, just like the border patrol seems to have been. 🙁

Damn straight it is. Anyone that doesn't have uninsured motorist insurances is basically SOL if they get hit; I highly doubt Mexican trucking agencies will be following any regulations at all, let alone making their drivers "proficient" at English like the bill mandates.
 
The teamsters are gonna have a hay day with this. I wonder what Hoffa has up his sleave, besides a truck out. There are holes in the desert. 😉

And, yeah, Bush does another idiotic thing, like anyone is surprised by that.
 
Its just like anything else. The Americans sit back and complain, but come voting time few do anything about it. I wonder how many people even called their representatives to complain about this.
