Ok, I've got an Abit K7Ta, with a Raedon 64mb, 256 MB Kingston RAM, 40 GB IBM 75xp HD, an old cheap creative Ensonique Sound Card, Netgear NIC and a generic winmodem for emergencies. I installed Win2k w/sp1, installed the NIC, immediately went to the windows update site installed SP2. Then installed other security patches and DX8a. Went to the VIA website and downloaded the latest KT133a 4in1 drivers, installed and now it won't boot. It just tells me that the WINNT folder is corrupt or missing. This has happened twice before once when installing the Raedon the other with the 4in1 drivers. Is it the MoBo? should I ditch it and get an AMD/ALi/SIS chipset? Or is it something besides the Motherboard?

Thanks,
Ken

have you tried to put in your win2k cd and try to repair the installation? try that and see if maybe that solves the problem.

as a tip, never install so much stuff without restarting between installs, that way you will know what messes up your computer.

The repair says it's successful then when you try to reboot it still says that the WINNT\SYSTEM folder is corrupt or missing.
Another repair attempt said that there was no operating system to repair.
I rebooted quite a few times during my updating. Most of the major windows updates force you to after installation.

I'm in the process of reinstalling win2k. This time I'm going to install the 4in1 drivers first thing and see what happens.
