Hello all,
Help me figure out this problem...

The laptop im trying to fix. It somtimes powers up first try, sometimes takes 10 trys. On the try's that it DOES power up it simply...does'nt do anything. Just lights.

When it does power up. Sometimes it'll last 6hrs sometimes 10mins. Then it just reboots, sometimes it'll have problems coming back up, sometimes not. Help?

Im a computer tech of sorts but still a little puzzled, any ideas?

I'm not an expert, but if you're running XP, change the control panel/system/advanced/startup and recovery settings so it does not automatically reboot on errors. Then you can post what the blue screen says, or what kind of lockup happens. You also might get some info from the event viewer to see what it says (I forget where you find that - maybe in programs/accessories/system tools).

Let us know what you find.

Hi, I just repaired a Mac and a HP laptop. Both had the power connector broken enternally. Both could be started if you wiggled the power connector from the power pack. One was simply unsoldered and the other was broken because the kids stepped on it. Try yours. Good Luck, Jim

well it would still get power from the battery though. Thanks for the thought though. I'll try that TD77077, thanks.
