My friend wanted to split his hard drive into a C: and D:

I used Partition Magic to make what was a 20 gig C: in Fat32 to a D: in Fat32...

Both the drives are Fat32... 10 and 10 gig...

I backed everything up in D: Drive...

To get ready for a Fresh installation...

As place my bootdisked in....
It is a Win 98 Boot Disk...

The Drive doesn't even exist...
There was only that Ram Drive.

I ran fdisk to find what was a Non-Dos Partition.

The Partition is 10 mbs.

When I deleted that partition and made it the primary..

My C: became 10 megs in Fat 12.
FDisk never even gave me an option..but then again. it couldn't even see the C: and the D:

How do I fix it and keep myself back on track?

Please answer me ASAP...
Thanks...!
I really need this help..

I'm trying to recover the space that I lost and the data..

The data is important..
Fdisk is supposeto delete a partition..well there are two..

but Fdisk doesn't even see it...

Is it because I'm a junior memberthat I get ignored?

No it is not because you are a junior member, I dont think anyone pays much attention to that. You have a very difficult problem and this is the weekend, not all the brain trusts are around on weekends. My take on this is that you cannot do what you are attempting because when you deleted the partition you lost the ability to see the other partition. In my opinion you should just have done a format C and not deleted the partition, just be patient and someone with more brains than me will come up with a answer if there is one.

actualy, i don't understand your original post. gotta work on either those english/typing skills...

but try this: fdisk, delete every partition, logical, dos, non dos whatever...
than creat a new partition 10 gigs in size, this will be your c:
you probaly have to make it active
you can also create the 2nd partition the same way.
when your done, you must format to be able to use them.
ie. dont install b4 u format, it wont work.

humm..
I fixed everything...

But I lost everything...

I think there is something wrong with the IDE Controller... I guess I have to go find another one...

The hard disk works on another computer..but when I bring back there...

It wouldn't accept it at all...

But the important stuff is gone...

Guess there is no way to recover the data now that the machine is off... :(

I was rushing on the post... so I didn't go back to grammar and spell check it. heh...

Wow... this sucks...
