Trouble with my network: One computer won't recognize the other

I have here two computers connected on a D-Link DI-704P router. I'm running Windows XP Pro on both machines. Internet is working on both like it should. However, the My Network Places folder my main machine only shows the shared items on this computer, while my other computer recognizes all the shared items on both it and my main machine. How can I get my main machine to recognize the shared items on my other computer?

Do you have both of the machines in the same workgroup?

For the propose of the initial setting, disable all software Firewall (including WinXP native
ICF); disable any active Virus scan or any other utility that might intercept
Network Traffic.

Your problem probably stems from the user, and sharing settings of WinXP Pro.
