Trouble with MX1000 Mouse?

I use my computer sometimes 70 hours a week, So I was not surprised when my mouse started to act up. Basicly the the scroller is getting heavier and harder to use. It's a real pain in the rear when you scroll with the button or do it manually.

I love the MX1000 (admit its kind of heavy) and if I have to I will buy a new one. I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this issue or any other issue with their MX1000? And if anyone had any experience with Logitech regarding warranty service.

P.S. Mine is out of warranty but just curious.

Hope he has better luck than me. I have always heard that logitech has great tech support, etc. but I didn't have good luck at all.

My mx1000's scroll wheel can't be used as a button anymore. You know how you should be able to press it straight down and it can be set in the software to be a certain command (right click, double click, etc.). I have used mine formonths and months with no problems but all of a sudden it woldn't work. I tried new drivers and did nothing. After 20 minutes of a long distance phone call he talked to me like I was an idiot and it was a software problem. I tried to tell him the actual button mechaism musty be worn out.
I finally got fed up when he said to unplug it from th USB port and plug it in the ps2 port. I said that has nothing to do with it. I told him I'll just deal with it and I had to go.

Let me know how your experience goes.

I told them I tried this and that and nothing worked. Then, the guy said, OK, let me send you a new one. So, it was pretty easy and straight forward. The only thing is that you need to cut off the usb adapter from your receiver and send it in to proof that you have the MX1000.

Actually, I removed the sticker from the back so I voided mine. Stupid I know but curiousity killed me. Because at first the left hand button was getting sticky from the inside, so when i pressed it, it would take almost a nanosecond to release to i can press it again, and then all of a sudden the scroller was getting. But what really killed me is that sometimes it was ok and sometimes it would get really really heavy. And this would happen in the matter of less than seconds. Anyway I finally decided to take a look inside and sure enough the button frame that was press the actual commander inside had a substance which I can only describe as liquid glue, it looked fresh though like someone actually poured it there. So I wiped it out and sure enough the problem with the left hand button was resolved. The mouse was FILTHY from the inside. Which was surprising because it's not ina basement or a dusty area at all. Sometimes my hand would get sweaty when i am playing but definitely not enought to cause that much ooooze and stickiness inside the mouse. It was working perfectly for a year now.

P.S. I did call Logitech, they said to send it and they would send a refurb, i did not tell them i remove the sticker and looked inside. There's no way they will send me another one when they see that I removed the sticker. I was just curious about their service. Was not bad at all.

I might need to do the same thing. Suddenly, my middle mouse button does not want to work as well. I might have to open it up and see what the problem is.

Weird... my middle click button on my MX1000 stopped working reliably this week as well. Every time I try to call Logitech I get disconnected, and they are not responding to my emails. Too bad, because really love this mouse (well, did).

Yea, i still love this mouse. I really do not use the middle click outside of firefox, so I am getting by, but it is annoying nontheless.

Imagine not being able to use the scroller. I swear everytime I am about to throw this thing to the wall, it starts working. You have no idea how weird this is, it would get really heavy to scroll it and all of sudden, literally between scrolling in one window and then switching to another, i start scrolling it works.
