I got this drive about a month ago. At first I had trouble with Winxp not recognizing the drive, which a registry hack fixed. Then I was able to burn a couple of test videos.
Lately it's been acting up. It started by not completly burning a disk. I was using a DVD-RW disk and it would mix the new stuff with the stuff already on the disk even though it said it erased it first. When it was played the menu would go back and forth between the old and new.
Now I am not able to burn a video at all. I've tried two different programs. The Sonic MyDVD program that came with the drive and Pinnacle Studio 8.
When I try to burn with Pinnacle Studio, it says it's burning then it ejects after about 5 seconds with nothing on the disk. No errors, the program seems to think everything went normally. I've tried with a DVD-rw and DVD-r disk.
When I try to burn with Sonic MyDVD it does the same thing only it gives several errors as well.
The first error looks like an OS message:

The DVD or CD device controller software on your system does not support writing large blocks on data. We recommend that you update your driver to the latest version to get improved performance. Click "ok" to proceed using a reduced buffer size.
Then I get another message at the end of the process.
MyDVD
Could no complete the last command because: Device Error -Sense Code(3 02 00) - No Seek Complete - Read (DVDErr, 197120).
I am able to burn data disks on both a CDRW and a DVD-Rw disk. I haven't tried making a music disk though.
I also just recently formated and reinstalled. I think some of this may have started after I did that.
System:
Windows XP sp1
amd athlon thunderbird 1ghz
768mb ram
Abit kt7a-raid motherboard
