Trouble with ICS not port-forwarding localhost

I have this Windows XP box set up as my router for the rest of my network using ICS. The only thing is that on the network, I have a Linux server which i use as my HTTP server. I can't access the HTTP server from anywhere on my network by using the domain name or external IP, even though the port is forwarded and I can access it from anywhere else in the world. The only way I can access the website from my internal network is to specify the internal IP of the Linux box, which sucks, especially considering I have a doman name pointing at the external IP.

Is this a common problem with ICS or something that is only the case on my setup?

The reason this issue has come up and that I don't use a 'real' router or have the Linux box as the router is because my incoming 'net connection comes in via a HomePNA signal on my apartment's phone lines. It's really a great setup except for the fact that my HomePNA equipment doesn't have *any* linux drivers, nor do I have a proper router that accepts and INCOMING HomePNA signal and can bridge that to Ethernet. Most of the models out there that I've seen don't do this properly, since they're designed the other way around to take an incoming Ethernet signal and route it to an internal HomePNA network.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Eric

I know it's not a dumb question, I just don't know if anyone has an answer for it. c'mon!! please!!

It is not a dumb question, on contrary you can be proud, you are probably the only one in the world that has such a setting.

Look at this page; it seems to me that you are violating some of the ICS rules.

Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing.

BTW, just a shut at the dark. ICS rules are more lax in Win98, could be that if you use win98 as the Routing machine you will be better off.
