Hi All!

I just upgraded from Windows 98 to Windows
2000 Professional and now the mute button and the volume
control on the PlayCenter does not work:

#1. When I start up the PlayCenter it starts up with the
mute button depressed (you can see a red X on the button);
you can unmute it but it has no effect on the sound either
way?

#2. You can move the volume slider back and forth on the
PlayCenter and it has no effect on volume?

I do have sound but have to control the volume and
everything through the Creative Sound Mixer.

Any ideas?

Thanks and Love You!

To answer your question. YES, use the Sound Mixer.

Creative advises to not install PLAYCENTER in Win2k or WinXP.

Thanks LiLithTecH,

I haven't heard... I've been intouch with Creative and they said nothing about that?... Could you direct me to where you got that info?

This is what Creative told me to do:

FishTech,
I suggest that you reinstall your drivers using the file CTZapXX.exe located in your installation CD.
Please have your installation CD in the drive and look for the file CTZapXX.exe in the [D]:\Audio\English\Drivers directory.
Run it to uninstall and reinstall your drivers. When rebooting, your operating system will detect and would like to install your sound card. Cancel, do not let your OS install your sound card. Browse again your installation CD to run the CTZapXX.exe file to reinstall your drivers.

And it did work once, but when I rebooted the problem returned... Anyone else know how to remedy this problem?
