Hi!

I have ASUS A7V and Duron 600..
was running fine overclocked to 850 for few hours, but when I popped in DVD, the system crashed during watching the movie..
When I tried reboot the system hangs after detecting my harddrives and dvd drive.
When I reset after system hung, it goes right into the BIOS and it says that system hung because of improper DRAM:BUS Frequency ratio.. whatever that is...
What do I do??? I need my computer for assignments!!!!
Can anyone help me? .. thanks..

yes, reset your memory setting to pc-100, if you are trying to use pc-133 settings and your ram is not good :) this will happen.

Get the latest BIOS update from asus.com and also make sure to install the VIA drivers (www.viahardware.com).

I was having similar random lockups on my A7V and it wasn't the memory because I even had everything at CAS3 and 100mhz.

Now, I am running stable 600@950 (1.65v)

Just keep messing with it and eventually it will work

If any of you have the soundblaster live in your A7v. Yank it out, run your system for a while and see if it crash or not. A7v are very picky about what slot you place your PCI card in. It does not help that Soundblaster live use 2 Irq instead of sharing with 1 IRq.
