trouble setting up perc 4e/dc

I've gone in and cleared out previous owners configuration but now when i enter to configure my own setup, there are no drives present. the drives work fine on a adaptec 29160 so what am i doing wrong?
are there jumpers to configure?

i've tried both channels and i am using only 1 cable...not sure of it's speed rating
 
Do you not see any physical drives when you go into the configuration for the PERC card? At the very least you should see the drives and the controller.
 
ok, new info...i tried hooking a single drive up in the last spot on the cable and both drives were visible when doing this individually. why can't they be seen when they are both plugged in at the same time?

give that man a cigar...added a termination jumper to the last hard drive in the chain is all is good...thanks for the assistance
