As far as CPU's go did anyone have trouble out of the AMD k6- 233 Mhz or K6-II 400. I tried the k6-233 Mhz with a Tyan and a FIC motherboard and always had terrible results, system lock ups, blue screens and everything else that could lock the system up. I know I had all the jumper settings right because I triple checked each motherboard.:disgust::disgust:

I had an AMD K6-II 300 in my AOpen AX-59 Pro MB, it's very good.
Eventually, I replaced it with with a 400MHz, then 500MHz. Never had a problem with all those 3 CPUs (win95, 95B, 98, 98SE and finally win2K). The only problem I had due to bad RAM, I replaced them with 2 indentical sticks of 128MB 100MHz ECC. I gave it to my gf and it's been running fine ever since.

Remember to install the lastest Via 4-in-1.

Recommend you move bios settings to conservative values with special attention to AGP.

My P5A and K6-3 400 ran well but I was running a Voodoo 3 2000 PCI card.

Well anyway, there are so many possibilities. :(
