trouble Installing Windows (2k) on SATA hdd

I currently put together a new system (p4, 3Ghz, Soyo SY-P4VTE, Hitachi 250 Gb SATA). I tried booting from cd to install win2k, but it goes through the whole process only to end at a screen that says that it cannot find a drive. I've used the utility cd that was included with the hdd, i formatted the disk drive, it still doesn't work...please help!

Oh good, I get to use this again: link 😀

1) have you read your owner's manual regarding setup on SATA? I'll get going on the downloading of it, in case you need some help interpreting it.

2) start downloading the VIA SATA RAID controller drivers and extract them to floppy, since you're going to need to press the F6 key and supply drivers so that Windows can see into the VIA SATA controller to reach the hard drive.
