Trouble getting my PNY rebate...

I got one of the PNY 7900GS' from CompUSA, doing the BB price match deal.

When I got it, my receipt was printed off, which also had the MIR on it.
I filled out all of the information, and mailed in my MIR.

I then got confirmation about two weeks later, but received the following error:
Invalid Reason: Missing receipt

The MIR was on the receipt itself.

They have a contact phone number, but it is completely automated.

What do I do?

No. I didn't know that was "something people do".
This was literally my first MIR, I usually will avoid them at all costs.

call the 1800 number and keep hitting zero until you get a person or go back to Comp USA and ask if they can give you a copy of your receipt

Hitting 0 just gives a "invalid entry" recording.
It's retarded, because one of the options is: "Hit 2 if it has been less than 6 weeks since you sent in the rebate". I hit 2, thinking I will get more options, but instead, all I get is: "Please allow up to 6 weeks to get your rebate, have a nice day, *click*."

One thing you should never do is buy PNY ever again. I've also lost a rebate to them, besides having received a defective product and terrible customer support on that product.

I would return it and go get the XFX card, but I don't have the damn receipt since I sent it in.

I got my PNY rebate check already from the same promotion without problem. Just call, and DON'T HIT 2, you'll get ahold of someone and explain, and I'm sure they'll accept the rebate.

Did you pay cash, or do you have an online credit/debit statement you can pull up?

I payed with debit, so you're right, I could pull it up on my statement--good thinking 🙂

Thanks for the advice, I'll call them during lunch and see if I can work it out

edit: fixed quote

are you sure the rebate form and the receipt were on the same piece of paper ?

I've never seen one like that, and I've done rebate deals many many times.

the rebate forms print out the same way as a receipt, but they aren't the receipt.

It may not help in dealing with PNY initially, but it may help with CompUSA in terms of retrieving a receipt.
