Ok, so this might not be a ?hot deal? but I don?t think that this belongs is the brag and moan section.
If someone *were* to get this card, they would be able to get future hot deals (my rationalization for posting this)
This is for those of you(students most likely) who are having trouble getting an American express blue card.
The first time I applied for this card, I was rejected. I have excellent credit but I was rejected was because I didn't make $20,000 (so much for being honest the first time)
But I tried again today(not so honest this time) and I was accepted.
I was so excited that I decided to post this so it that it might help other people who have not had success getting this card.
I don't know if this will work for everyone, but it did for me.
Here is what I did:
Fill out the form as usual, and when you get to the line about:
"Yearly Personal Income "
Select: $20,000 - $39,000
And then
"Income Source"
Select: self-employed
(This would change depending on what you put for the "Please tell us about your employment")
(For example, I used my fathers' home business and address)
"Do you have a (check all that apply) Checking Account? Money Market/Savings"
I checked both of these.
I think that the most important thing(besides good credit) that determines if you will get accepted is to specify that you make at least $20,000 a year. I may be wrong though...

This is your only warning.
