I have version 3.0

non pro

cheepoman 1129f when I try to flash it (yes I booted from a boot disk, from winxp)

I get the error

dos/4gw error 2001 exception 0dh general protection fault

whats going on?

GPF's are windows probs. get a DOS boot disk. With the system written to it. if there's no room you can use a separate disk for the flash utility. But you HAVE TO boot into a clean DOS invironment, not a windows xp boot disk.

I missed the part about the WinXP boot disk - there ain't no such animal! the WinXP boot disks, perhaps, 6 of 'em, and they are only for when a system won't boot from the CD drive.

Ok, I have tried 3 different boot disks from that plase, dos 5, dos 6, win98

all of them give me this same error:

636416 bytes free

Go to my post here

I just updated the bios on two of these boards.
One is a version 3.0 and the other 5.0 (Pro).

Running a XP1800+ @ Throughbred b on the Pro
at 150fsb 1725Mhz with default vcore and stock
cooling. Temps under full load (Prime95) are only
39C. I did remove the pad from the retail cooler
paperweight 😉 and add AS Ceramique in its place.
