Greetings all,

I picked up a new 8800GTS for my HTPC to replace the ole X850. In addition, I ugpraded from XP to Vista Business 64Bit edition.

The HDTV that I'm hooking up is a Westinghouse TX 42", Here

To connect it, I'm using a DVI to HDMI cable from monoprice.com

The problem is, I get a good two inches of underscan all around.

With my MacBook Pro and X850 in XP, it fills the entire screen at 1920x1080, and mapped 1:1 pixel perfect.

I played with all the adjustment options in the NVIDIA Control Panel for the latest version of the drivers, but Nada...

any ideas?

Download the Westy display driver and have it installed.
Then choose the option's Use my display built-in's scaling.
Which Nvidia driver are you using, btw?

You may try to Google for some other previous driver to see if it helps fixing the scaling issue.
The current driver is known to have some issue with w/s display scaling.
I knew the current driver has issue with my Viewsonics scaling so I rolled it way back to the Nov 06 driver version for now.
However the current driver seems working fine with my Samsung 226bw display (rig #2)

I'm using a 8800GTS 320 and a 37" 1080P Westinghouse, and here's what I have to do:

1) Install the latest Nvidia drivers
2) install my custom INF for the monitor - by default it's detected as a PnP monitor, but that won't work - it will only do 1080i. I created this INF by installing PowerStrip and creating a custom monitor INF. If you want a copy of mine (which is actually detected as your 42" screen) PM me and I'll send it along.
3) Enter the Nvidia CP and switch to 1080P HDTV setting (default is 1080i)
4) Enter Windows Display Properties and switch to 60Hz (it will still be on 30Hz, though the NVidia CP is on 1080P)
5) Sometimes after all that I still have to enter the NVidia CP again and use the HDTV image stretcher to make it fill the screen.

I played with Powerstrip without any luck, based on a post from avsforum, BUT, reverting to Forceware 158.24 did the trick, no more underscan!

What the hell Nvidia, I can't believe they broke 1080p in their later versions.
