Trouble Booting into Safe-Mode

Yeah, so Im in the process of replacing my GFX card and im trying to get into safe-mode to run driver cleaner, but nothing is happening while tapping F8 repeatedly. Am I doing something wrong?

Some systems require F5 instead. Nothing to lose by trying.

If you are using a USB keyboard, try using a wired ps2 keyboard. That solved the problem for me once.
