My son is in high school marching band, and needs a new bone. The one he has now I picked up on ebay for dirt, but he wants something better than the super cheep knock off brands. Looking around, it seems there is the ?band? quality, which can be had for a hundred bucks, and the next step up is the four hundred range. Is there something that can be had for under three hundred that?s worth buying?

I have a rusty trombone for you...

Seriously though, I don't know. Sorry.

Pawn Shops!
There are loads of parents that buy their kids high end instruments without questioning whether they'll stick with it. I got a nice bach strad trumpet, used for about 3 weeks for %50 off retail that way.

it's hard to find a decent trombone in that price range.

I'd try looking on Craigslist or in pawn shops for used King's, Bach's, Amati's Conn's, and Yamaha's

Look at the lower end Jupiter, King, Bach, and Yamaha trombones. They can be bought for $600 cad... whatever that is in american
