Troll Alert

Theres flaming at least. Trolling? I'm not sure, but I know I do get pretty annoyed here when you try and have a conversation and people come in and tell you that your chosen area of interest / hobby is "suck".

IMHO, if you don't like it, why even waste your time in the thread?

I think they are trolling though. They're trying to start flame wars for no reason.

Exactly! Its really annoying for someone to come into a thread (take cars as the subject for example) and say 'No cars are rubbish, go for a bike'. Thats a mild example.

I do agree with your point about flame wars though, and that is trolling I admit.

And you're "Bush is a llama 9/11" thread wasn't trying to start a flame war? By posting a link to an obviously biased Democratic article, I'm sure you weren't at all trying to start a flame war. And Bush didn't even get to veto it before it died.

You're confusing discussion and flaming. In my thread, I linked to a reputable news source and proceeded to discuss different sides of the issue. I didn't call anyone names. I didn't just say, "Bush is suck" and leave it at that. If others couldn't keep the thread from degenerating into name calling, I'm sorry. It was a thread for discussing both sides of the issue, no matter how polarized they are.

In the other thread, there was no intelligent point to make. MichaelD just dropped in to insult posters. He had no desire to further the discussion.

Maybe the difference in you and I is respect. I have one opinion and I *respect* other's opinions as long as they're discussed rationally. I understand that people have different opinions, and I like to discuss them. Do you really think I was going to "convert" anyone with my post?

As hard as it is for you to understand, I do respect AmusedOne, Texmaster and all the other people I disagree with.
