Got me some Trix last night. Was expecting them to look like this but instead they were all spherical...like this! Apparently they have been that way since 2006 TRIX WIKI

Also they didn't taste good in their new form...but I guess no cereal tastes as good as an adult as it did when you were a kid.

TOP CEREALS EVER (in no particular order): Honey Combs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Corn Pops, Honey Bunches of Oats, Quaker Oh's

I had no idea they ever went to non spherical. I must be getting old. They had 3-4 flavors and were round. That's what I know.

How old are you?

As others have pointed out, the original trix cereal was always in spherical form.

Man, I haven't had Trix in forever....I might go buy a box next time I'm at the supermarket.

Here's some excerpts from the Trix wiki

Trix, when first introduced in 1954[1] by General Mills, was more than 46% sugar.

They started out as round cereal pieces, but in 1991, they were changed to puffed fruit-shaped pieces. In 2006, they reverted to their original shape in the United States and several other places. However, at least in Mexico, they have kept their fruit shape.

Still fruit shaped in Mexico...Conejo tonto, Trix son para los niños!!

In 1999, PETA filed a lawsuit against General Mills stating 'Depriving the Rabbit of his Trix is cruel and sends a bad message to kids'

I may have made that one up. Be honest though, you bought it!
