I was checking out the Tritton AX Pro headset. When you click the link go to "package contents" tab. I have a couple of questions...

1) What is the optical cable for?
2) What is the Dolby Decoder Box for?
 
If you have an optical out connector on your comp for digital sound you connect the optical cable to your comp or whatever system you have and it connects to the decoder box which you connect your headphones to. The decoder decodes the signal and sends it to the headphones for surround sound.
 
So I need a sound card that has optical out. Is using optical worth it? How is the sound quality?
