I'm looking to get a tripod for my Nikon D70.

I would like to be able to travel with it. I don't want to spend a ton of money on a super lightweight and compact one, but one thats good for occasional use and easy to take with me.

Is there anything worthwhile for under $100?

Manfrotto 190B (magfiber if you want to spend some more) w/ 488RC2 Head.

If your in the states it'll likely be under the bogan name, so you'll have to google those models to find the bogan names.

The problem is that good tripods are sturdy and heavy for the most part. I'd look at Slik as there stuff is good quality and more affordable than some of the more well known and pricier brands. I have a 2lb Slik carbon fiber that cost about $250. They have some decent metal options for around $100, although you are looking at 5-7 lb tripods, which are not great for hiking.
