I just want ONE of those Dell 24 inchers. That thing RAWKS! Then I'll put my 17" above it....

overkill really, very unnecessary

I've had at least two displays for the last twenty-five years, and they've always been a tremendous help. Back in the pre-PC days, I'd have two or three dumb terminals on my desk, and in the early PC days, I modified some of the programs I used to run on both the color and monochrome cards under DOS.

Pre-windows, I'd run the program on the center display, edit the code on the left, and have error and debugging messages on the right, or be working on the documentation and release notes on the right. Adds to one's quality of life.

My next purchase is 3 dell 20" lcds plus quite a few hardware upgrades (A64, ram, hd, video). Plan to have it all ordered by the end of next week.

I suggest you order before tomorrow.

$486.85 shipped. There is also a $90 of $750 coupon that may stack. 🙂

heh, well i am working on a couple website projects at the same time, so it's really cool to have the code on one monitor, an IE and Firefox preview on another and any other necessary application on the 3rd monitor (photoshop, phpMyAdmin, etc.) ... your choice though, I wouldn't say No to a 4th one.

i had three LCDs for a few months. two 2001fp and one 18incher.
now Im waiting for the 24incher to drop down in price.

i like the 2005wfp better than the 2001 actually.

Trible lcd's wont cut it, you need 3 computers too. This is a trible lcd/computer setup!

😉

3,4Ghz P4 running the 17" BenQ + 2 IBM TP T41p w. 14" (1400x1050) on both sides.
All controlled by a 4-way USB KVM switch...

What's the point of having 3 PCs running right next to each other on your desk? I can understand a laptop synced with your desktop but having 2 laptops and a desktop on the same desk? Meh, not for me. The reason that I have a desktop with 3 LCDs attached to it is so that I can run 3 different applications (all requiring some sort of integration with each other, such as Visual Studio and other programming tools) and I can copy/paste stuff between applications. Seriously, this is my biggest use for 3 monitors, it just makes things easier for me. Or, I can have a browser on one monitor, dreamweaver on another and a tv show playing / IM window / etc. on another.

By the way, my T42p has 1600 x 1200 🙂 I love it. 🙂

Yup, the T42p is nice 😛.
Point of having 3 computers is that I can have them do different time consuming tasks. I do a lot of video/photo editing, programming and web design + some 3D stuff. With this setup I can REALLY multitask.

Dual 20" LCDs here.

I've got an 18" LCD, 21" CRT, 17" CRT, 15" CRT all unused though.

Thinking of grabbing one of these and going triple or quadmon.

Haha, that's what I just bought for my triple LCD setup 😀

Liking it so far?

It's a damn shame I couldn't find any dual DVI PCI cards that cost less than $100. 🙁

Probably pick up one of these as soon as I can justify it 😛

I've been tempted to hook up the third 2001FP again. It felt like total overkill last time I tried though, hardly used the 3rd monitor at all even after giving myself a couple weeks to adjust to it. That and I don't have a PCI card with DVI either.
