User freaking out because she's not getting email from a certain sender but someone else can. These type of tickets are a pain as I need to trace emails and of course users never provide time stamp they just say that it happened weeks ago so it's a big guessing game.

As part of my investigation I map her mailbox and lo and behold, there's like 30 emails from that recipient in the junk folder. WTF people? Don't bother us with stupid crap like that. See that bold name with the "30" beside it? Well guess what it means there's unread mail in there!

I can't wait to start my new job, wont have to deal with users anymore. 😎

Make "Check your junk folder" part of your support script so you don't need to waste so much time?

Yeah that's true, guess that's one way to look at it. Then again, in a perfect world they should still know how to use a computer for basic tasks. We're there for the more advanced stuff like backups etc. Of course that's not how it really is, so yeah, just have to deal with it.

Well as a knee jerk reaction our company used a policy to turn off the Outlook junk mail filter for all users.

What is really fun is when they complain of spam but all the so called spam is the "opt in" newsletter stuff from sites they go to. Why the hell do they use their company email address when they shop online?

Better yet, they decided to turn off the Outlook type ahead cache "nickname" list because some moron accidentally sent an email to the wrong person because they chose the wrong name from the list.
