13.6 gb drive with 2 partitions installed on mb's primary ide. Installed win98 as c: then installed xp on a 20 gb drive hooked up to the primary of a promise controller card. no problems at this point everything fine. I then installed win2k on the second partition of the drive win98 is on. like a dumba** I modified the boot loader file after I changed it to make xp the default. should have saved it with 2k the default while it worked then changed it, oh well. here is the one that doesn't work:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=signature(57d356f8)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
signature(57d356f8)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
C:\="Microsoft Windows"
any suggestions on how to rewrite this so xp is my default, or at the least back to win2k the default and all of them boot? the way it is it shadows xp on the selection screen but if I hit enter it tries to boot to 2k and says it can't, but I should try to repair it. thanks for any help!!!! I really don't want to do all this over again, not sure if its because of the controller card or not.
