Trinity hits the egg

The prices are damn right.

Why would anyone buy a 5800k over 5600k tho?

Any reviews yet of the non-k trinities without the extra l2 cache.
(Can imagine, results aren't pretty).

it's nos just the l2, the slower versions have a single module (2 cores),

no Athlon X4 740/750k yet...

4 SKUs only?

that ain't much ..uhh... choice.

Ouch thats why it's so cheap, i thought they were all quads.

a CMT "single\dual" core based on PD?
That's not gonna look pretty on a windows machine with bloatware for OEMs.

Decent performance for the $$$. Power consumption is really the only 'black eye' for me. CPU performance is acceptable with pretty decent GPU performance. If I was doing a new build, I would probably still pick a Pentium + cheap discrete for just a bit more or about the same. More options down the road to get a better GPU.

Maybe Steamroller will be good enough that Intel will start releasing K i3 SKUs again 🙂

Competition is good!

The most interesting one looked to be the Athlon X4 750K for $81. It looks like a core i3 competitor(for descrete GPU) at that price. Too bad it's not there yet.

TDP is still a bit much though.

Ooh $65 CPU-GPU for HTPC (assuming better than $50-65 Intel)... checks mainboards... ooh $60... oh wait, $85 with current SATA and USB (ehh, same as Intel). Then again, a microcenter Intel combo is only $105 but pick-up only (natch!). :hmm:

Bought a 5800K + $60 ASRock mobo. I've spend $180 in far worse ways before.

It's a good deal if you compare it to the Llano launch prices. Plus you get an unlocked SKU, unlike when Llano first launched. Enjoy!

I would be getting it too if they would release some ITX mobos.

Holy cheapness Batman! 😱

I'll get one as well once an ITX board is released. I wonder what happened to dual graphics though. I was hoping this generation of APU would make steps towards making that feature a little more usable but I don't see it talked about anywhere.

I think these are great prices honestly. It will be even better when decent mobos get into the $60ish AR with good current features and 4 DIMM slots.

Damn, no ITX boards. I guess I'll hold off until Asrock releases theirs. Can anyone clarify the following, I'm a little confused.

Dual graphics looks like an A85X thing. Does that mean I won't be able to xfire on the A55/A75 chipsets with the internal APU + 6670? Or does dual graphics simply refer to xfire with two PCIe cards?

When your Bitfenix prodigy is more important than your mobo/CPU, then yes, I am waiting 🙂

If no ITX boards will be available soon perhaps M-ATX could be an option. Does anyone know of a decently small M-ATX case that can be VESA mounted to the back of a TV?

I'm waiting for the L3 cache versions to see what will be available. Like to see if that huge, super slow cache will help things or not. If it helps I may replace my core2 quad later on down the road....

lol, glad to see I'm not the only one waiting for ITX boards

ITX + Steamroller (w/real CGN core) looks promising to me. That could work out well for me timing wise for when I want to ditch my Tivo and go with an HTPC. It's a year off (or so), because I already re-upped for another year of Tivo.

I am hoping to convert to ITX on my main rig by then. 🙂
