Trillian trouble

Anyone out there use trillian?

Well i'm trying to delete a group of yahoo people from my yahoo messenger list, but everytime i restart trillian it imports them again, so i can't get rid of them. It's pretty annoying, how can i get around this?

Do you log on from more than one machine ? I think it syncs with the servers... so you'd have to do this with each copy...

1) exit Trillian completely
2) edit buddies.xml (notepad is fine) in the <install path>/users/default/ directory
3) delete the lines with the yahoo users and save the file

A better title would be "Trouble with Trillian"... hehe... sounds like Tribbles

Anywhoo... the way rh71 says it won't work ALONE, it'll still reupdate with the servers... you STILL need to login with their regular client(do it at a library or something) and delete the users you want gone... doing ONLY rh71's steps won't work, and deleteing only from a reg client also won't work.... but doing both will(for most people...) but try to delete only a few at a time(maybe a handful a day)... if too many are gone at once, sometimes the yahoo servers think it's a mistake and reinstate some from their backups...

Ok thanks.

But i have bumped for another trillian question 😛 - Can i make it so a certain group of buddies doesn't see me unless i want them too? I have this group of people that bugs me all the time when i'm playing games, but there's a different group that i communicate with more often.
