Ok I finally relented and installed it. I have two whole skins installed and here are my questions:

1. why do both skins seem really fuzzy and unreadable? What I assume should be white backgrounds are not...

2. anyone recommend any good skins? simple and elegant is what I want

the white backgroung on the open windows looks like someone went crazy with the spraypaint tool...

You must be having a video problem. Maybe related to the transparency support in trillian.
What OS? If it's pre-2000, that's probably where your trouble is.

For skins... You need to get TinyCordillera. Trouble is, you have to get it from the author cuz it's not on the webpage! 😛 Shoot me an IM with your email and I'll zip and send it to you. You'll like it.
 
microscopic is also very good. that's actually what i'm using right now. tinycordillera is still better though. a little bigger, but much more elegant.
 
I am set for a skin for now, but I really need to deal with the transparency? issue.

It looks washed out and is hard to read.... 🙁
