I love trillian for what it is, but lately it's become slow and annoying to have open. What's another all-in-one chat program that has a small footprint but does basically the same thing? I've found a couple but they didn't have IRC which is a must. I'd like aim+yahoo+irc... and maybe msn but that's not a priority.

Thanks in advance

Yeah I recently switched from trillian to pidgin. Trillian was ok but it had some issues that were getting on my nerves like randomly saying invalid password and booting me off.

I still find it funny that 3rd partys can do a better job then microsoft at making a IM client. MS must of made char tmp = new * char[100000000] a new programming standard for their office.

Odd... I use trillian with the microscopic pro skin and disable the wikitrash function, and it never uses more then 9MB ram, I definitely would not call that bloated, and it's anything but slow even when it was on my old p3m 1ghz 256mb ram laptop with a trident video card.

But yes, pidgin and miranda are some alternatives. I have even run miranda on my toshiba libretto 70CT (win98, P120mmx, 32MB ram)

Well pidgin is now crashing every time it starts for some reason. Guess I'll be looking for something else.

Pidgin works fine for me, it has since I first started using it about 4 years ago. Dunno why it would be crashing.
I'd give miranda a try.

I'd be more inclined to try to discover why a reliable program crashes and another "feels bloated" on your system.
