It wasn't there. On their site, it says there's a store inside the Lloyd Center(big mall here in Portland). But there wasn't one! 🙁 We looked everywhere, and at all the directories. Nothing.

We ended up going to some "All American" ice cream place. It was... icecream. Nothing groundbreaking.

Oh well.
 
I am not sure, but I thought it was NEAR Lloyd Center, not in it.... I thought it was where the old Farrels used to be, but its been awhile since I have been up there....

speaking of coldstone... is it a good franchise to open? my uncle wants to open a coldstone factory, but we arent sure if they make much money or if its a popular franchise. what do you guys think? how does it differ from the ice cream you buy in supermarkets and baskin robins?

There also seems to be one in Gresham and Tualatin.

I'm assuming this is good ice cream?

As long as you have a good location and the weather isn't cold year-round, I imagine that your uncle can have a successful franchise if the store is run well. The one near me is packed, even in the middle of the week...the ice cream is fresh, and they use more cream giving it a richer consistency and taste, making it better than your average supermarket-bought ice cream.

Never tried the Cajun Grill, is it expensive? I always try to go to Stanford's when I'm near Lloyd Center (I'm usually there for a Blazer game, though, and they're really busy).
 
For the portlanders...there is a cold stone in tanasbourne in beaverton...take 26 out to 185th and on ur left is the tanasbourne plaza

It is very good.

It's no more expensive than a normal fast food joint, and you get a HUGE portion.

Get the bourbon chicken with Rice & Beans as a side, and make sure to ask for lots and lots of chicken sauce on the rice. 😀

It is better quality even than Baskin Robins, which is pretty good IMHO.
Now, here is the deal, all these coldstone type places, MarbleSlab, etc... here is what the good places use to make their ice-cream:
ColdElite LB-1002G only about `$15,000.00 used
$30,000 new.
Now, don't get the franchise, just buy 2 USED machines, that EXACT one.
The ColdElite LB-1002 makes SOFT ice-cream only the ColdElite LB-1002G makes the hard ice-cream. Then you can order the unfrozen ice-cream mix from various companies or make you own creation. Any restaurant supply will have the refrigerated granite slab you mix the stuff into the ice cream on, so get any brand you want.

I ended up going to Stanich's West off Macadam instead. Hadn't been to Stanich's in a long time. I gotta say, the food wasn't as good as I remembered... the burger patty was suprisingly small, and the fries were OK but kind of soft. It was alright... maybe my expectations were too high! 😛

Ahh, figures. 😛

We ended up going there again tonight. We went to the one at Clackamas since it's only a couple of miles from me. I've had better. The chicken was good, but the usually superb rice and beans wasn't so great. Maybe it was the place, maybe it was the batch.

Pioneer place seems to be the most consistant. I've always been satisfied there.

For desert, we had 3 scoops of Haggen Dazs ice cream. 😛 I had Coffee, chocolate peanutbutter, and Rocky Road. She had Caramel, Strawberry and Vanilla.. lol
 
I thought the ice cream was way too rich. I didn't like it that much, I had it really hyped by my sister. Am I the only one who doesn't love the place? Seemed expensive too...
