Right after work, I went to the park to go running. I can usually go 4 miles, sometimes more, but yesterday, for some odd reason, I had to stop before 1 mile. I was just too tired.
But I kept going as much as I can, then I would stop, then go, then stop. Finally I went home exhausted.

And I check the weather on the net when I got home, as I thought I saw lightning in the distance. 103 degrees outside. My jaw dropped.
Could that have been what was sapping my energy?
I didn't realize it was 103 degrees.

yes your body was already working overdrive to keep you cool before you started running.

look into water cooled jogging shorts and shoes and a power heatsink helmet with a fan.

I'm sure there's no correlation between the massive heat and your ability to run four miles. You're obviously just out of shape.

rofl...the only way to get better at running in the heat is to drink a ton and do it every few days

if his body was working 'overdrive' then it was hardly working at all.

The heat is a factor but the biggest factor is the humidity. It is worse on your body if it is 90 out and 95% humidity than 103 and 40% humidity. If you are going to run in this kind of heat, camel up on some water about 30 min before you run and make sure to bring a water bottle if you are going to run a long distance. Also, eat a banana when you camel up on the water before the run.
