Welp, my phone's dead, the more I was on XDA I found out pulling the battery when you think it's stuck but it's updating the radio is a certain way to brick it. It also seems quite a few people on there had their EVO crash while they were attempting to flash the radio. They too ended up with an unfixable brick. Since I'm reading about the people who did everything right and still killed their phone. After I go pick up another EVO today, I won't be touching the radio. I'll find another rom to run since Twopointtwo requires you flash the radio. Hopefully I can sell this bricked one for parts and recoup some of the $$$ I spent on it.

Well I picked up a new White EVO and am in the process of trying to install TwoPointTwo on it, I guess I never learn :D can't get the stupid rom to work, but at least I haven't bricked my phone *fingers crossed* anyone here run TPT? I seem to be the only person who can't get it running :(

I rooted my EVO using unrevoked pretty much day 1. The main reason I did so was to get wireless tether to work but for some reason never could get it to do anything other than just sit there. Anyone have any idea why? Is there some second step I need to do before getting it to work?

(Sorry Quebert, if this is a total hijack just let me know and I'll post separately.)

I've used it as my main rom in the past. Also used Warm Z. Both worked fine. Are you on PRI 1.90 now?

What happens when you try to boot into the rom?

I ran Warm Two Point Two RLS5 for a good 4 months before recently switching to CM7. Warm worked great as a daily driver (and looked great once you changed the horrible default font) but I became a fan of CM7 after using it on the Nook Color so I decided to switch things up for some variety.

I also tried WarmZ RLS1 for a few days, but that had some dealbreakers for me like an ad blocker that apparently can't be disabled which broke games like Words With Friends and other minor bugs that will likely be ironed out in future releases.

I like CM7 but with it I can't use the HTC widgets (right?) I don't like most of them, but their text and music ones are great. And I'm probably in the minority here, but as a launcher I love Sense, and with RLS5 I get a nice skin for the sense launcher + rosie, so it's a win win for me.

I lovw sense, but if your looking for a music app to try out try this. No widget though :(

I don't have any problem with Sense either. HTC generally did a good job of adding usability without adding much slowdown or bloat which is more than I can say for the other hardware manufacturers versions of Android.

That app is pretty freaking cool for an initial release, albeit a bit crash prone. I also think the developer will be getting a letter from Microsoft's lawyers any day now.

I'm not a fan of CM7 either. It changes too much. I prefer ROMs that leave most things alone and give you flexibility to customize it how you like. Hate it when ROMs include themes that you can't get rid of since most Android themes are ugly as hell.

Ummm. I think you have it ack basswords. CM7 is bone stock as far as appearance goes. Gingerbread stock tit for tat.
Myn warm 2.2 is a gussied up HTC Sense ROM. And it's themed up the yin yang.

Well, I did say I didn't like it when ROMs install themes and stuff. So-called "bloat removal" is highly subjective.

The other point I made in my post is I don't like it when ROMs change too many things. CM7 removes Sense, even the Sense apps (my wife has used Launcher Pro instead of the Sense launcher since she got her EVO anyway), so it's changing a lot.

For a long time I just ran a stock rooted rom on my Epic. No themes, no changes, just rooted so I could uninstall the built-in apps I didn't want. Rather than some other developer deciding what constitutes "bloat."

I think you are missing the point of source built ROMS and similar. Cyanogen isn't changing anything. It's the stock Google experience.
It doesn't remove Sense. It wasn't there in the first place.
-edit- have you seen what is included in CM7 as far as apps goes? Yeah, that's what I thought, not much there. Senseless Sense processes in the background? Nothing.

I'm not missing the point, I do know the difference between Sense and AOSP. Look, this is my wife's phone. Sense is what came with it. Flashing CM7 on an Evo changes a lot of things. It might be close to AOSP, but that's not the point. The point is that it replaces all the Sense apps with AOSP apps and then I'd have to explain to her why X and Y and Z changed.
