I've been trying to get my wife a new phone since her Nexus 6P glass shattered. I see a couple of Google Pixel XLs (first gen) for sale but some are calling their phones "LTE Pure" with only a GSM radio. The dealer claims the phone to be a US phone and gave the model # to be "G-2PW2100" which is the general unlocked US phone AFAIK. But this person says it is GSM only, so I wonder if the CDMA radio is broken?

Anyone else know if this is a bad buy?

I don't trust eBay. Even a seller with a "great reputation" can be scamming people.

I would just buy somewhere that guarantees non-blacklisted devices.

Thanks for Swappa; I keep forgetting they exist. I guess that's why they're looking for a new marketing director. Here's to hoping I don't get crap.

Ok, so I went for Swappa and purchased a phone after the seller said he was shipping it 2-day. I should have asked deeper, FedEx, UPS or USPS? The seller sent it USPS. A week before Christmas.

So of course it failed to reach me in two days. It failed to reach me before Christmas. And then the day after, when I had not seen the post man all day and no mail was delivered, I get the tracking information that it was delivered at my door step.

So now I have no phone and the post office is "investigating." <sigh>

I can't say I have too much sympathy for somebody ordering anything a week before Christmas and expecting two-day.

I also wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that the mail man just marked everything as "delivered" to avoid trouble and it turns up a day or so later.

A FedEx driver did that to me once. I called in since I was giving up a good chunk of my Saturday to receive that package.

The look on the driver's face when he handed me the package 20 minutes later was worth it. I do not let that slide. Out for delivery had better mean I receive it that day.

But as for ordering something in the week leading up to Christmas? Yeah, that's on you, not the USPS.

EDIT: Per thread title, so far none of this is on Swappa. I don't even know why OP would think that.

Same. I was on the phone with UPS not 2 minutes after the delivery notification popped with nothing on my porch. They found it about 20 minutes later and made the driver turn around and go back to my house.

Have ordered 3 iphones on Swappa. All 3 experiences were fine. I usually look up the persons amount of reviews and dont go with peeps with a low (like under 20 reviews)

Of course I ordered stuff from NewEgg on December 23'rd. I received the items on the 28th, which was better than I expected considering the holidays.

I've sold a few phones on Swappa, and so far the experience has been pretty good.

As far as OP, it doesn't look like the seller or Swappa did anything wrong. There's no way I would buy something during Christmas week and expect it to be delivered on time.

I've sold two iPhones & and just recently an iPad Pro. Also purchased two iPhones, no issues yet. I try to be as selective as I can with purchases but when selling it's just whoever wants to pay up.
