Tricorder for vein detection

I wonder if it shows the needle as well...?

It'd be cool to add a laser pointer on the needle, so you can see the vein with the Accuvein thing & then pinpoint the entry area. They stabbed my wife nearly 15 times before she gave birth (they even had to switch arms because the relatively new nurse couldn't find a vein lol)...both of her arms swelled up like crazy. It's definitely an area that could use some technological improvements!

I doubt that this will be that technological improvement.

Just saying.

Do what everyone else does when a new nurse can't find a vein, call the er nurse. I've been poked so many times by idiots who think if they're hesitant enough the needle will find a vein on it's own, I'm ready to stick myself. I think it's like counting change back. I don't really think they're idiots but they don't have the knack and no amount of turning patients into pincushions is going to teach them.
